Big Man/Woman on Bookmobile

You've heard of the BMOC--Big Man (or Woman) on Campus. Well, here are the Big Men and Women on the Bookmobile: our most popular authors.


Children's books
5. local author Rick Riordan (the Percy Jackson series)
4. Mary Pope Osborne (Magic Treehouse series)
3. Jane O'Connor (Fancy Nancy series)
2. R. L. Stine (Goosebumps series)
1. Daisy Meadows (Rainbow Magic fairies series)

Among all the San Antonio Public Library branches, the list of most popular children's authors includes Osborne and Meadows, but also Dr. Seuss, Marc Tolon Brown and Stan Berenstain.

Adult fiction
5. Debbie Macomber (romances, many of the titles are a street address, such as the Blossom Street series)
4. David Baldacci (suspense and political thrillers, including the Camel Club series)
3. Nora Roberts (romances and mysteries, under the name J. D. Robb)
2. Janet Evanovich (romances and mysteries, including the Stephanie Plum series)
1. James Patterson (lots and lots of mysteries, including the series for Alex Cross and Women's Murder Club)

Among all the San Antonio Public Library branches, the most popular writers for adult fiction are almost the same as those listed above, except Michael Connelly beats out Debbie Macomber.
